Welcome to Skanda Hora!

With the blessings of my parents, Supreme Guru Jnanaskanda, Gurus, Ganesa seated on the Moolaadhara chakra, Goddess of intellect Saraswati, Sree Veda Vyasa, Kula-Dharma-Ishta devatas and Navagraha-Rasi-Nakshatra devatas, and with all humility, I am launching this blog on the Vijayadasami day (USA: October 18, 2018).

I hope the various resources, to be presented through this blog, will be useful to those who want to learn Vedic Astrology as well as those who practice it.

I will present both published and unpublished scriptures available to me covering all six parts of Vedic Astrology – Golam, Ganitham, Samhitha, Jatakam, Prasnam and Muhurtham – through this blog. I pray to Lord Skandacharya – the creator of Vedic Astrology – to guide me through this selfless contribution.

All lessons and discussions will be available in English, Malayalam (മലയാളം) and Tamil (தமிழ்). There will be extensive coverage of concepts with sanskrit slokas from various Vedic Astorlogy scriptures with sloka audio lessons, video lessons, explanation with examples and quizzes.

Vedic Astrology is criticized today by the masses as unscientific and superstitious. In my opinion, this is largely due to those getting into practicing it without proper spiritual foundation and in-depth understanding of the scriptures. With half-baked knowledge and greed for money, they misguide and exploit those seeking solutions to problems. By the way, don’t we see this tendency in all professions?

The only solution to this situation is by getting educated exceptionally well with what the scriptures truly teach us and at the same time, pursuing a spiritual and selfless path. By this approach, an ordinary astrologer becomes a daivajna, the one who embodies divinity and guides his clients well in the right direction to solve all material problems and ultimately towards Self Realization.  Such daivajnas, needless to say, naturally attract all kinds of wealth. I will explain the basis of this fact through another article in future.
